Bridesmaids:

Susanna Alvarez

Susanna is one of Maureen’s dearest friends.. We’re thrilled to say that she said 'yes' to standing with us at our wedding. Maureen and Susanna have one of those amazing friendships that no matter how much time has passed, they pick up right where they left off. They went to college together, spent years as room mates, and caused just enough trouble. She has a boyfriend, Dave (a contract tech writer) works as a programmer, and heartily enjoys living in San Francisco.

Sarah Mason

Sarah is an amazing woman Maureen met in Seattle through a mutual friend. She's smart, funny, and Canadian. She's been an amazing confidante, fantastic friend, and gives the best advice. We’re happy to say that she’s agreed to join us at our wedding. Her life is changing too, as she is pregnant with her her little girl, Sophie, who is due in May. She lives with the Father of her child (Hayden, an AMAZING Chef) and is loving it. She works as an audiologist at the Children’s Hospital in Seattle.

Kathleen Harmon
Katie is Maureen’s creative other half. She is Maureen’s friend and business partner for PinkPolish Design. We’re happy to report that, she, too will be joining us on our wedding day as a bridesmaid. We've actually only known her since April of last year, but being in business together has made she and Maureen very close. She lives with her boyfriend (Blake) of many years with her 2 kids. Maureen and Katie also work together at Aon Consulting.

Groomsmen

Mark Huyler
Eric’s brother has joined us celebrating our nuptials. Also a good friend and long-time sparring partner, he was also the inspiring reason for Eric to move to Seattle (Lucky for Maureen!). Eric spent many-a-day at Mark’s house having dinner, helping them around the house and playing with his nephew. Mark and his family live in Kirkland, very near Seattle. Mark has a lovely wife, LaDeana and adorable child, Owen. He works at Expedia in their Geography department.

Zak Jann
Maureen’s brother and Eric’s new-found partner in crime, Zak was willing to stand with us on this special day. He has been a constant presence in Maureen’s life as the punching bag, collaborator, conspirator at family functions and as a bonus has a pretty good sense of humor. He’s multi-talented, as he’s going also be the music coordinator for the wedding as well. We’re thrilled that he’s decided to be a part of wedding. Zak goes to Chico State as a Music major and has a radio show on Friday nights (Zak, I need the link for that!).

Mike Short
Mike and Eric worked together at Safeco and have been friends ever since. He, too, has decided to hang out with us while saying our vows. Mike (aka “Shorty) is one of those people who is easy to trust and get along with. Maureen had an instant respect for him when they met and it has been a treat making him “our friend” instead of just Eric’s friend. We’re thrilled that he’s decided to join us in California for our wedding. Mike just recently bought a beautiful house in Puyallup, WA, works in the insurance industry, and ladies, he’s single!

The Families
We have a very strong bond with our families, which is one of the things that drew us to one another. We’re very happy to be sharing this time with our families and look forward to showing them off to everyone at the wedding.

The Janns
Without Maureen’s Mom and Dad, this event would not be possible. Their constant love and support have been such a blessing throughout this process. They raised Maureen with an impressive sense of family, a great sense of humor, and an excellent work ethic. They have taken Eric in as one of their own, accepted that he was going to be a part of their daughter’s new life in Seattle, and made him feel welcome. They live in Gilroy, CA, have two pugs (Peekaboo & Barnicle). Tammie works in Real Estate and Greg works in Technology.

The Huylers
Martha and Rich have made this such a special day with their support, love and acceptance. Without their help, understanding and reliability, the wedding and Maureen and Eric’s relationships would not be the same. Being that they live in New Jersey, truly just makes the heart grow fonder and we look forward to the day that a road trip with our family over to Martha and Rich’s house is a reality. Martha and Rich raised Eric to have a strong sense of family, compassion, an eye for detail and a strong will. Not only did they receive Maureen with open arms, but they made her feel like part of the family immediately. Rich is retired and volunteers and the animal shelter, Martha works in technology. They foster kittens in their spare time.
